Since 2009, hands-on Townsville IT support
A local repair brand with a real history, relaunching as part of Suburban Australia.
Townsville Computer Man was founded in 2008 by Nicholas O'Sullivan, going public with the brand in 2009. Between then and 2016, it provided hands-on computer repair and IT support across Townsville — residential customers, small businesses, and network and support work for larger operations, including multinational mining companies based in the region.
In 2016, general servicing paused while Nicholas moved into a full-time IT career, though a small number of long-standing clients continued to be quietly supported in the background. That career has since included IT leadership roles across schools and government, and Nicholas currently works as IT Manager at a Townsville school, alongside governance roles in local community organisations.
Townsville Computer Man is now relaunching as a brand of Suburban Australia, the same business behind Suburban Secure's cyber security and technology advisory work. Same ABN, same person, same practical approach — just back doing hands-on repair work in Townsville again.
The original Townsville Computer Man service vehicle — a 2009 Hyundai Getz. Genuinely fuel-efficient; probably should have kept it around for 2026 fuel prices.
