A note on Digital Matrix Computers
2026-07-05
Digital Matrix Computers was a well-regarded Townsville computer repair business. In February 2026, a fire caused extensive damage to their premises — the sort of event that would put any small, hands-on repair business under enormous strain. Thomas Mosely and his team spent months working to recover, clean up and support the customers who had machines in their care at the time.
On 5 May 2026, Thomas announced that Digital Matrix Computers would not be able to reopen, after a long insurance process ultimately ran out of time. It’s a genuine loss to Townsville’s local tech and repair community, and to everyone who built a trusted relationship with Thomas and his team over the years.
On a personal note, I used to purchase supplies through Tom and the team myself, and I’d always opt for them over the bigger, faceless online suppliers — because they were local, because they knew their stock, and because it’s simply better for Townsville when that kind of business sticks around.
If you were a Digital Matrix Computers customer and need somewhere to take a computer or laptop for repair, you’re welcome to get in touch — no pressure, and no assumption that we’re trying to step into anyone’s shoes. Updates from Digital Matrix Computers are on their Facebook page.
