Snapdragon
Great battery life and Copilot features — but not always the right chip if your work depends on certain professional software.
Snapdragon-powered Windows laptops — often marketed as Copilot+ PCs — use an ARM processor rather than the traditional Intel or AMD chips found in most Windows machines. The main appeal is genuinely real — significantly longer battery life, efficient everyday performance, and dedicated hardware for on-device Copilot and AI features.
Where it gets more complicated is software compatibility. Most everyday Windows software runs fine, either natively or through emulation, but some applications — Adobe Premiere Pro and certain Photoshop workflows and plug-ins among them — can run into compatibility issues, missing features, or reduced performance because they weren’t built for ARM and rely on emulation to run at all.
If day-to-day use is browsing, office work, video calls and general Copilot-style AI features, a Snapdragon laptop is a genuinely strong choice, particularly for battery life. If your work depends on specific professional creative or industry software, it’s worth checking that software’s official ARM support before buying — and if you’re not sure, ask us before you commit to one.
We’re happy to give an honest opinion on whether a Snapdragon laptop suits what you actually do with it, not just what a spec sheet promises.
